Famli How-To Guide

Invite Family Members.

Bring the people who matter into Famli and keep your family connected.

Famli is designed for the whole family. You can invite the people you want to share your family life with — whether they live with you or somewhere else.

01
Open Members.

Open Famli and go to Members in the sidebar.

Here you’ll see the people who are already part of your Famli family, and whether each person is an Adult or a Child.

Note: only the person who set up your family’s Famli — the family owner — can invite new members.

02
Invite People.

Select Invite people.

For each person you want to invite, select Add a person, enter their email address and choose whether they join as an Adult or a Child. You can invite up to 10 people at a time, and add a personal message so they know the invitation is from you. Then select Send invite.

You can invite your:

  • Partner or spouse
  • Children
  • Parents
  • Grandparents
  • Other family members you want to keep connected

Adding a child without an email? Use the Add a child without an email section: type their name and press enter. They’ll appear in your family as a Child straight away, and you can invite them by email later when they’re ready to sign in.

03
Your Invitation Is Sent.

Famli emails each person an invitation to join your family.

They select Join Family in the email, then sign in — or create their Famli account if they’re new — and they’re connected to your Famli family straight away. There’s nothing for them to pay: your family’s membership covers them.

Tip: the invitation only works for the email address you sent it to. Ask them to sign in with that same address — if they’re already signed in to Famli with a different one, they’ll need to sign out and back in first.

04
Decide Who Should Be Included.

Think about who would benefit from being connected to your family’s Famli.

It might be everyone in your household, or family members who live elsewhere but still play an important part in your family’s life.

For example, grandparents can stay connected with what’s happening without needing to live in the same home.

05
Choose Adult or Child Access.

Everyone in your Famli family joins as either an Adult or a Child, and that decides what they can see.

  • Adults can see everything in your family’s Famli.
  • Children can see your family’s calendars, tasks and everyday information, but Personal Documents, Finance and Insurance are hidden from them.

When you invite someone, Joins as starts on Child, so remember to switch it to Adult for your partner, parents and other grown-ups.

Changed your mind? As the family owner, you can switch anyone between Adult and Child at any time on the Members page — just change the setting on their card.

Tip: keep passports and other ID in Personal Documents, and financial and insurance paperwork in Finance and Insurance — those are the areas children can’t see. Anything kept elsewhere in Famli is visible to every member of your family.

One Famli Membership for the Family.

One of the great things about Famli is that one family membership is designed to bring your family together.

Rather than everyone paying for their own, Famli gives your family a shared place for the information, events and things that matter. Each person has their own sign-in; the membership is shared.

What Can Your Family Share?

Once your family members are connected, Famli can help keep everyone on the same page with things such as:

  • Calendar events
  • Reminders
  • Tasks
  • Documents
  • Household information
  • Vehicles and pets
  • Travel and holidays
  • Special events — birthdays, weddings, christenings and more
  • Finance and insurance information (adults only)

Your family chooses which of these areas to switch on, so your Famli shows only the ones you use.

Everyone can stay connected without relying on endless text messages, emails or conversations to keep everyone informed.

Family Doesn’t Have to Mean the Same Household.

Your family isn’t necessarily all living under one roof.

Famli can help keep grandparents, adult children and other family members connected too — wherever they are.

You’re All Connected!

Once your family members have accepted their invitations, you’re ready to start using Famli together.

One family. One place. One less thing to manage.

Everything family. One place.
